Looking to celebrate the Fourth? Here are the scheduled public fireworks displays in Montgomery County, MD, for July 4th and 5th.
Germantown – Friday, July 4
Germantown Glory will take place on Friday, July 4, at South Germantown Recreational Park (18041 Central Park Circle, Boyds). The event begins at 7 p.m. with live music from Central City Orchestra, and fireworks are scheduled for 9:15 p.m. Free parking is available on-site.
Kensington – Saturday, July 5
Mid-County Sparkles will be held on Saturday, July 5, at Albert Einstein High School (11135 Newport Mill Road, Kensington). The celebration begins at 7 p.m. with a performance by Downtown Sound, followed by fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
Parking at the high school is reserved for individuals with disabilities only. Free general parking and shuttle service will be available starting at 6:30 p.m. from Westfield Wheaton (11160 Veirs Mill Road, Wheaton). Vehicles parked at the mall before 6:30 p.m. may be towed at the property owner’s discretion. Directional signage will guide attendees to designated event parking and shuttle stops.
Olney– Saturday, July 5
On Saturday, July 5, Olney, MD, will light up with an exciting fusion of baseball and fireworks during the highly anticipated FIREWORKS GAME, featuring the Olney Cropdusters versus the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts. The game kicks off at 6:30pm, with gates opening an hour earlier at 5:30pm. Attendees can opt for a Parking Pass Only ticket at $12 per vehicle, which allows entry to OBGC starting at 7:30 PM and opens up access to the fireworks show that is slated to begin around 9:30 PM, presented by Zambelli Fireworks.
In addition to the baseball action, visitors will be able to enjoy extended concessions provided by Taste Inc., KONA ICE, and Lone Oak Farm Brewing Company throughout the event. There will be lawn seating available, but guests can also bring their own chairs or sit in the newly constructed grandstand.
Adult tickets
for the game are priced at $18, and children 11 and under can attend for free with the purchase of an adult ticket. For those who want to catch just the fireworks display after the game, the Parking Pass Only ticket is available at $12. This event is being marketed as the “ONLY fireworks celebration in Olney.”
Poolesville – Friday, July 4
The Upper Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department (UMCVFD) will host its annual Independence Day celebration on Friday, July 4, featuring live entertainment, food trucks, and fireworks in Poolesville.
The event will be held on private property at the intersection of Hughes and Sugarland Roads, with the viewing area located near 15598 Hughes Road, Poolesville, MD 20837. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., and there is a $10 cash parking fee per vehicle, which supports the fireworks fund. Parking along Hughes Road is prohibited, and attendees are asked to follow the direction of police and parking staff.
Brickyard Road Band will provide live music, and food trucks will be available on-site. For safety reasons, alcohol, pets, open flames, and BBQs are not permitted. Coolers may be inspected by Montgomery County Police. The event is supported by the Town of Poolesville, Poolesville Area Chamber of Commerce, and UMCVFD, with volunteer first responders on-site.
Rockville – Friday, July 4
Rockville’s Independence Day Celebration will be held on Friday, July 4, at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in King Farm. The event begins at 7 p.m. with live music by Vertigo Red, followed by remarks from the Mayor and Council at 8:45 p.m., and the National Anthem at 8:55 p.m. The evening concludes with a 20-minute fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.
Free public parking will be available along Shady Grove Road, Gaither Road, and Piccard Drive. Visitors are encouraged to follow event signage rather than relying solely on GPS. Accessible parking is available at 2102 Gaither Road on a first-come, first-served basis for vehicles displaying valid disability placards, with access via Shady Grove and Gaither Roads.
