Wayback Burgers has reportedly agreed to a lease for a new site at 9811 Main Street in Damascus, which is anticipated to open in late 2025, according to a report by QSR.
Owned by Shahzad Manzoor, a new franchisee, the 1,925-square-foot eatery will be the brand’s fourth location in Maryland and will include an open kitchen and dine-in design. In addition to a range of regional options, Wayback offers burgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, and salads.
In 1991, the restaurant launched its first outlet in nearby Delaware. Prior to changing the name to Jake’s Wayback Burgers in 2010 and removing the Jake’s part of the name in later years, it was known as Jake’s Hamburgers. There are already more than 150 Wayback Burgers locations globally.
In July 2021, plans were first announced for Wayback Burgers to open a location in Gaithersburg.Signage was put up and preliminary work started on the restaurant’s planned location in The Shops of Potomac Valley on Darnestown Road. Despite initial efforts, the project was repeatedly delayed and eventually never came to fruition.
