Christopher Dudley, a volunteer EMT with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS), was arrested by Fairfax County Police in relation to several instances of unlawful interaction with juveniles that began in 2004.
Four victims came forward after an investigation that was started by a referral from Child Protective Services, and Custodian charged Dudley, 46, of Fairfax, with eight counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery and eight counts of Indecent Liberties.
Following his recent arrest, Christopher Dudley, a life member who has volunteered with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS) since 2002, was suspended from all BCCRS events and placed on involuntary administrative leave, according to the BBCRS. Although he hasn’t been involved with the squad since June 16, 2025, BCCRS reaffirmed its dedication to public safety and trust while expressing profound worry at the accusations.
Corey Smedley, the fire chief for Montgomery County, released the following statement:
Christopher Dudley, a volunteer EMT with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, was arrested by Fairfax County Police and charged with multiple counts of aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties with minors, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) has been informed.
These accusations are taken seriously by MCFRS. We will look into this issue internally and are working closely with Fairfax County authorities.
The Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS) is collaborating with us. Mr. Dudley has been placed on involuntary administrative leave and is not permitted to use any MCFRS or BCCRS facilities, activities, or systems while the investigation is underway.
