Update on Andy’s Pizza in Kentlands

Published On:

Andy’s Pizza will establish a new shop at 145 Commerce Square Place in the Kentlands neighborhood of Gaithersburg, replacing MOD Pizza, which closed in March 2024, as we reported in May.

On Thursday, August 21, the Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) will hold a liquor licensing hearing for the new eatery.

We don’t even have a date yet because the opening is so far off, according to an Andy’s official. When it’s time for our grand opening, we’ll post an announcement on social media.

Andy’s Pizza is well-known for its crisp crust, chewy inside, and delicately sour taste, which are all attributed to its 72-hour cold-fermented dough baked in a New York deck oven. In addition, the menu offers fries, wings, salads, and more. Andy Brown, the owner and a native of Bethesda, has been considering expanding into the Kentlands region. In September 2023, the brand debuted in Bethesda, Montgomery County, at 4600 East West Highway, where Booeymonger had previously been.

In addition to its expanding presence in the D.C. area, which now includes restaurants in Adams Morgan, NoMa, Navy Yard, Shaw, and many sites in Northern Virginia, The Kentlands will be Andy’s second location in Montgomery County.
