The Rockville City Police Department has charged Caleb Jiron, 18, of Frederick, and Freddy Gonzalez-Soto, 18, of Montgomery Village, in connection with the shooting on N. Washington St. in Rockville on Friday.
According to Rockville Police, “Jiron and Gonzalez-Soto were taken into custody shortly after the shooting by Rockville City Police Department officers. Both were armed with privately made firearms, commonly referred to as “ghost guns.” Jiron and Gonzalez-Soto have been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and various firearms violations. The victim remains in stable condition in an area hospital.
“The Rockville City Police Department responded to two unrelated shootings within 24 hours in our city, and in both cases, arrests were made quickly by our officers. Although arrests have been made, these investigations remain very active. Violence of any type is not welcome in the City of Rockville,” said Chief Jason West.” Mugshots were not provided by police.
