Trader’s Joe’s Grand Opening Delayed as Hundreds Lineup Around the Block

Published On:

The grand opening of Trader Joe’s at 225 N. Washington St. in Rockville Town Square scheduled for Thursday, June 12, was cancelled due to a power outage.

The Square Rockville posted the following update on its Instagram page: “We’d like to thank everyone for coming out to the opening of our exciting new tenant at The Square – Trader Joe’s. We apologize for the unforeseen mechanical issue resulting in us being unable to open at the expected time. We look forward to welcoming you to The Square and Trader Joe’s very soon – keep an eye on our Instagram for an update.” (Video of the crowds gathered at the location this morning below.)

Known for its unique and affordable products, friendly service, and emphasis on organic and specialty items, this is now the fourth Trader Joe’s location in Montgomery County. It joins existing stores in Bethesda, Silver Spring, and another Rockville store on Darnestown Road (internally referred to as the North Potomac location).

We will provide an update when additional information becomes available.
