With a free grand opening celebration that includes games, arts and crafts, refreshments, and tours, the Bunny Hive, a social club for young children and their caregivers, will launch its first location in the DMV area in Bethesda on September 27.
With memberships, class packs, and drop-in choices, the 1,473-square-foot studio provides programs for kids ages two weeks to kindergarten, as well as seasonal events and private rentals.
The Bunny Hive is renowned for providing early childhood enrichment in a kind, welcoming manner. The area has been carefully planned to enable caregivers in spending quality time with their children and fostering relationships with a caring neighborhood. For kids ages two weeks to kindergarten, the studio provides a range of 30-minute programs that foster development and meaningful interactions for both kids and their adults. These classes include music, painting, sensory play, baby massage, toddler ballet, and more.
Jordan Smith, a Silver Springs resident and mother of two kids, aged two and two months, owns the 1,473 square foot Bethesda studio. Jordan, who has experience in marketing and studio administration, witnessed the power of connection while running yoga studios with a community focus. She was motivated by motherhood to establish a warm and inviting third space in Bethesda where families may feel accepted and at home.
“I immediately felt the need for community during that major life transition after having my first daughter,” Jordan explains. In Bethesda, I wanted to establish a place where parents could interact, get support, and form connections that would endure beyond the early years.
Little ones can explore slides, a play tent, a ball pit, cushioned blocks, dress-up items, and more in the main area known as The Hive. In addition to communal and kid-sized tables that create a homey atmosphere, a specialized studio room has a toddler bar for workshops. A washroom with a diaper change station is also included in the studio. Along with daily lessons, members can take advantage of expert-led experiences on subjects like sleep and nutrition, as well as seasonal activities like a Halloween social, a Valentine’s Day dance between parents and children, Easter celebrations, and story time with Santa.
