Rockville Eagle Scout Completes Park Improvement Project at King Farm

Eagle Scout Samuel Sam Gregory recently finished a service project at King Farm Park playground by designing and erecting a drainage pipe and retaining wall with assistance from Troop 773, according to the City of Rockville. The goal of the project, which was created in collaboration with the city’s Recreation and Parks personnel, is to stop sediment runoff and contribute to the playground surface’s long-term preservation.

According to the City of Rockville, Eagle Scout Samuel Sam Gregory recently finished a service project at King Farm Park playground to help maintain and safeguard the area with assistance from other Scouts in Troop 773. Sam designed a retaining wall especially for the park after researching the best practices for them.

Before overseeing the installation of a new retaining wall and drainage pipe, he worked closely with the Recreation and Parks personnel in Rockville to create lists of necessary supplies and equipment. The goal of the project is to keep the playground surface intact for many years to come by preventing silt discharge.
