Public Invited to Vote on Glenmont Local Park Mural Design

The public is being asked to assist Montgomery Parks in choosing a new mural for the park activity building at Glenmont Local Park. A panel of arts professionals and community stakeholders will choose four mural proposals from a pool of 26 submissions, then from August 4 to August 24, 2025, community members can vote for their favorite design.


The four final mural designs can be seen in the foyer of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Headquarters building, as well as online and in person at the Wheaton Library.Voting is availableonline throughEngage Montgomery Parks, or byU.S. mailandemail:

The mural project is a part of Montgomery Parks’ continuous efforts to integrate public art into park areas around the county and was made possible by a kind donation from the Montgomery Parks Foundation.

Up to $30,000 will be awarded to the selected artist for the mural’s final design, production, and installation. It is anticipated that installation will be finished by November 2025.When the mural is finished, there will be a party for its debut.
