Public Input Sought for US 29 Flash BRT Phase 2 Design in Silver Spring

Published On:

According to MCDOT, on Thursday, August 28, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will have a public meeting in person to discuss the US 29 Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Phase 2 project. This will be followed by a meeting of the Corridor Advisory Committee (CAC).

This meeting will be divided into two sections. A public meeting on bicycle and pedestrian facilities will take up the first hour of the conference. The June meeting’s subjects, presentation, and interactive feedback exercises will all be repeated. The CAC meeting, which will take place in the second hour of the meeting, will concentrate on the initial layout of the Flash BRT amenities along the route. The public is welcome to attend both parts of the conference and is encouraged to do so.

Currently, US 29 Flash BRT is a high-frequency, enhanced bus service that runs via Colesville Road/Old Columbia Pike between Downtown Silver Spring and Briggs Chaney/Burtonsville. Through the construction of a dedicated bus lane between Sligo Creek Parkway and Tech Road, the Phase 2 project will enhance the current US 29 Flash BRT service.
