Price of Dan Snyder’s Former Maryland Home Now Available For Almost 50% Less Than Initial Listing

The American Cancer Society has once again lowered the price of the property that was donated to the organization by former Washington Commanders owners Dan and Tanya Snyder in 2024. The house, located at 11900 River Rd. in Potomac, is now available for $24.9 million– a $5 million price drop from the previous $29.9 million price, and almost half of the $49 million it was initially listed for in February 2023.

The property has been

listed

by Cara Pearlman of COMPASS and has been on the market for a total of 438 days since she initially listed it following the donation back in May 2024. Even with the price drop, it remains the highest priced home currently available for sale in Montgomery County.

The property was initially listed at $49 million when the Snyders were attempting to sell, which would have been a DMV record if it sold for the asking price. Dan and Tanya Snyder’s $48 million purchase of River View (7979 E. Boulevard Drive in Alexandria, VA)- a 16,000 square foot home with an additional carriage home, holds the record for the

most expensive home sale in DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia)

history.

If sold for the asking price, or anywhere near it, the sale would still be a record price for Potomac. According to

BizJournals

, “the record price for a home in

Potomac

is $20 million — what Wizards and Capitals owner Ted Leonsis and his wife, Lynn, paid for the Marwood estate in 2011. That 1926 mansion is the former home of President John F. Kennedy’s family.”
