The 30-year-old motorcyclist Patrick Adam Smith of Bowie lost control and struck a car on New Hampshire Avenue on August 9, 2025, in the 22000 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Brookeville. The incident is being investigated by the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
Montgomery County Fire Rescue and 4th District officers arrived at the scene at around 6:17 p.m. after receiving a report of a two-vehicle incident involving a car and a motorbike, according to MCPD.
According to the preliminary investigation, Smith was riding a black 2006 Triumph Rocket III motorcycle north on New Hampshire Avenue when he lost control and struck a silver 2013 BMW 128i that was traveling south on the same street for an unidentified reason.
Smith was declared dead at the scene despite attempts to save his life. The adult male driver of the BMW reported no injuries and was not taken to the hospital.
