Planet Aid Prepares to Close in September

With plans to move to a new, nearby location, the Planet Aidthrift store and donation center located at 5520 Randolph Road in Rockville is getting ready to close. The organization anticipates ending operations at its current location sometime in September, though the precise closing date has not yet been determined.


According to a receptionist from the Rockville location, donations are still being accepted at this time. As before, donors are urged to bring in their gently used clothing and household goods.The group is actively looking for a new location in the area, so the decision to close is part of a planned move. The official stated, “We are searching for locations in the vicinity, but we do not yet have a specific location in mind.”

A non-profit group called Planet Aid gathers and resells worn apparel and other goods to raise money for global sustainable development initiatives. Additionally, the group runs a Mid-Atlantic network of yellow donation containers.The community will be informed of the new address as soon as a location is found, while the Rockville location gets ready to move.
