The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) and Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fatal hit-and-run collision early this morning near the intersection of Frederick Road and Indianola Drive in Rockville.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 12:50 a.m., Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a pedestrian that was struck by the driver of a white Honda Accord. The adult male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the location. The driver of the striking vehicle was quickly located and apprehended in the area of Frederick Road and Shady Grove Road.”
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the fatality. A news release will be distributed once additional details, including the name of the decedent, are available following proper notification of next of kin.
