A medivac team and other emergency personnel were promptly sent to the location. The medivac arrived around 12:35 p.m., however delays were experienced in both directions of the bridge because all westbound lanes were still blocked.
Drivers on the Bay Bridge have received a safety reminder from the MDTA, asking them to stay in their cars during the delays. To maintain safety and make it easier for emergency services to do their jobs, it is not recommended that people get out of cars.
Drivers are urged to look for alternate routes if at all feasible and are cautioned to anticipate major delays. As events unfold and the lanes are cleared, the MDTA will keep the public informed.
