The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is looking into the death of 36-year-old Vincent James Rizzo of Silver Spring on June 10, 2025, when a turning SUV collided with a motorcycle at Veirs Mill and Newport Mill Roads.You may find James Rizzo’s family’s GoFundMe here.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue and 4th District officers arrived at the scene at around 8 a.m. after receiving a report of an SUV and motorbike colliding, according to MCPD.
According to the inquiry, a silver and black 2004 Yamaha YZFR6 was going east on Veirs Mill Road when it was struck by the driver of a silver Nissan Rogue turning left from westbound Veirs Mill Road to Newport Mill Road.
With minor injuries, the Nissan’s driver and front seat passenger were sent to a nearby hospital.
After being ejected from the Yamaha and taken to a nearby hospital, the biker passed away on Friday, June 20. Vincent James Rizzo, a resident of Silver Spring, age 36, has been confirmed as the deceased.
Detectives from CRU are requesting that anybody who may have seen the collision call 240-773-6620 as part of an active and continuing investigation.
