The Montgomery County Department of Police confirms that Sergeant Mark Burhoe has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of possessing child pornography, resulting in his immediate suspension without pay, while both criminal and internal investigations are underway.
Per the news release distributed on Friday, July 11: “The Montgomery County Department of Police confirms that Sergeant Mark Burhoe, a 20-year veteran of the department, was arrested on Thursday, July 10, 2025, by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and has been charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography.
Considering the pending criminal matter, Burhoe has been suspended without pay, effective immediately.
The department takes these charges seriously and is cooperating fully with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, which will manage all media inquiries related to its criminal investigation.
An internal investigation will also be conducted by Montgomery County Police in accordance with department policy.
