Today, longtime Washington supporter and Montgomery County, Maryland native Jon Bernthal paid a visit to Commanders training camp. It feels great to be a Commanders supporter, he said to a group of reporters. Before remembering the team’s three previous Super Bowl victories, it seems like it was yesterday (see the video below).
A lifetime supporter of the team, Bernthal just posted a selfie he took at Life Time on Seven Locks in Potomac/Rockville with Redskins great Dexter Manley. Along with praising the team’s recent achievements, he expressed his enthusiasm for the players’ character off the field. As a father, I find it admirable to see what kind of men these guys are and how they can serve as role models for these children.
We recently announced that Jon Bernthal, a native of Montgomery County, will be returning to his role as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie from Sony and Marvel. The actor attended Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., and graduated in 1995. He was raised in the Cabin John neighborhood. He still has family in the region, and readers frequently send in selfies they took with him when they see him in Montgomery County at the grocery store, gym, mall, and other local locations. Bernthal was the one who posted the selfie this time.

“It feels so good to be a Commanders fan,” he said to a group of reporters. It seems like it was a long time ago.
