Tyler Wang Ombe-Gichuru, 25, of Silver Spring, has been accused by the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) with sexually abusing two children under the age of ten while they were taking a private swim lesson at an Upper Marlboro community center. The suspect, who does not work for the facility but was hired by the victims’ family, is still being held without bond while the investigation is ongoing.
A relative of the two victims reported to the Prince George’s County Police Department on July 22, 2025, that the suspect had sexually abused the two youngsters, both under the age of ten, during a swim lesson, according to the PGPD. According to the preliminary inquiry, the suspect was paid by the victims’ family to give them individual swimming lessons. On July 22, 2025, the sexual assaults took place at an Upper Marlboro community center. The community center does not employ the suspect.
In addition to several other sexual offenses, Wang Ombe-Gichuru is charged with two counts of second-degree rape on a child under the age of thirteen. He is still being held without bond by the Department of Corrections. The suspect is currently only facing charges related to this case. Detectives from CVAA discovered throughout this investigation that the suspect initially met the victim’s family at the trampoline park in Laurel, where the suspect works. The probe is still ongoing.
