Momiji Sushi Izakaya & Japanese Eatery, a brand-new Japanese eatery, will soon open in Silver Spring, replacing the former Cubano’s.
The restaurant will be situated at 1201 Fidler Lane, which was the home of the well-known Cuban restaurant for over 20 years till it shuttered its initial location permanently in early 2024. After Cubano’s closing, the building at 1201 Fidler Lane was previously placed for sale in October for $2.75 million.
In May, Source of the Spring originally revealed that a Japanese restaurant will be moving into the area. In June, it was announced that building and demolition of Momiji’s next house would shortly start.
Importantly, the Momiji restaurant, which has been in Washington, D.C., since 2008, is not associated with this new location. There is currently no stated opening time for Momiji Sushi Izakaya & Japanese Eatery.
