The clothing brand Collars & Co., which is located in Montgomery County and is well-known for its debut on ABC’s Shark Tank, is growing its local footprint this fall by setting up a new pop-up shop in Congressional Plaza in Rockville.
The 2,900 square foot shop facility at 1643 Rockville Pike was once home to the Bark! pet store, as reported by Business Journals. Collars & Co. was established in Bethesda, Montgomery County, and became well-known across the country after landing a Shark Tank deal with its creative line of dress shirt collars and cuffs that were made to be worn over sweaters and polos (see the video below).
The entrepreneurs’ inventiveness and business savvy astonished the sharks during their visit. Alongside British entrepreneur Peter Jones, Mark Cuban agreed to a $300K investment in exchange for 10% stock and a $700K line of credit. The company’s growth has been accelerated by obtaining the financing and mentorship.
The brand stated that this Rockville pop-up will provide an immersive setting that combines fashion, lifestyle, and design to highlight its clothing, according to Biz Journals. Among the many striking features of this one-of-a-kind shopping experience will be a custom closet created by Bethesda Custom Closets and Blinds to tastefully showcase Collars & Co.’s products. A vintage Porsche and a private jet model will also be on exhibit during the pop-up, adding to the atmosphere and offering guests interesting photo ops.
