In the fiscal year that ended on June 30, Maryland’s programs and services received $1.589 billion from sports betting, casinos, and the lottery.
In fiscal 2025, gaming was robust across all revenue and contribution streams, while it wasn’t a record.
With $2.6 billion in revenues in fiscal 2025, the Maryland Lottery experienced its fourth-best year in its 52-year existence. Sales of scratch-off tickets exceeded $1 billion for the fourth year in a row. Public schools receive the majority of the $667 million that the lottery gave the state, which is distributed among 14 state programs and funding.
Fiscal 2025 saw $1.965 billion in gaming income at the state’s six casinos, the third-highest year in the state’s 15-year history of authorized casino gambling. The majority of the $831.3 million that casinos gave to the state went to the Education Trust Fund.
Sports betting also increased. Maryland’s total sports wagering revenue for the first 11 months of fiscal 2025 was $88.9 million, up from $60.3 million in fiscal 2024.
