Delivery services are currently being tested in a few sites in Washington, DC, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia by Ledo Pizza, one of the original pioneers of Maryland Style Pizza.
Ledo responded, “We’ll see how these locations do,” to a user on X (previously Twitter) who asked, “Can you all add more MD locations?” He implied that a wider deployment might be contingent on the results of the current trial.
Ledo has not provided delivery in the past due to quality issues. As stated in the ledos.com FAQ section:
Home delivery is not offered by LEDO. It takes time, focus, and attention to make good pizza. In contrast to delivery pizza, LEDO Pizza requires special attention due to its substantial quantities and premium ingredients. LEDO DOES offer a carry-out service where customers can handle their pizza as it is being delivered to their homes.
Initially called Ledo Restaurant, Ledo Pizza first opened its doors in Adelphi, Maryland (Prince George’s County). Since circular pizza pans were still in their infancy at the time, they chose to stay with what was working and use rectangle pans instead. You may read more about Maryland Style Pizza’s past here.
