The latest information on road access alerts for July related to purple line work has been released by Purple Line and the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT). The complete change is shown below:
Between June 19 and August 21, 2025, workers will finish stormwater drainage and utility crossings at the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street, install light rail lines, and rebuild sidewalks. The junction of Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street must be temporarily closed to all traffic in order to complete this work. Access for pedestrians is always preserved.
Crews will temporarily close the junction of Ramsey Avenue and Bonifant Street from July 10 to September 10, 2025. Light rail lines must be installed, sidewalks must be rebuilt, and utility crossings across the intersection must be finished during this closure. The Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center’s Level 3 taxi stands and Kiss and Ride will continue to be accessible from Ripley Street.
Light rail lines will be installed on East Wayne Avenue from Manchester Road to the Manchester Place Station by crews on or about June 18–August 21, 2025. East Wayne Avenue must temporarily become a one-way street due to the closing of its eastbound lane for this construction. Vehicles heading west from Flower Avenue will continue to be able to access East Wayne Avenue. Please abide by the instructions provided by on-site staff and the posted signage.
