At 9:39 a.m., WMATA announced that maintenance workers had discovered a hydraulic fluid leak from equipment in the vicinity of Union Station and Takoma during the night.
Red Line trains are now only running on one track because a thorough cleanup is required to solve any possible environmental issues. Officials are trying to fix the problem and get full service back as quickly as possible.
