Just a few of the food vendors at Commas Food Hall, a brand-new 13,000-square-foot culinary destination located on the third floor of Ellsworth Place (8661 Colesville Road) in Downtown Silver Spring, are already open.Recently launched in the dining hall is Tokoa Cheesesteaks, which local food critic Big Schlimhas scored with his highest award, STAMP.
In order to establish a dining experience that combines ability and enthusiasm, two longtime friends and restaurant veterans came together to create Tokoa. “We’re obsessed with creating delicious experiences,” the restaurant, which first debuted in College Park, writes. With dishes like quesadillas, savory tacos, crispy mac & cheese bites, and classic cheesesteaks, our menu combines originality and excellence. Every product demonstrates our dedication to creating flavors that people will remember.
Delmy Hernandez and Evelyn Cruz, the chefs, promise to entice palates with a cuisine that combines well-loved favorites with innovative new dishes. Tokoa claims that every mouthful of their inventive tacos, quesadillas, and reimagined cheesesteaks will be satisfying and of high quality. The Philly cheesesteak (shaved ribeye, onions, Cooper cheese, salt, and black pepper) and versions that are more in line with our local steak and cheese are among the cheesesteak variations that are available.
