Whereas,
prioritizing breastfeeding with sustainable workplace support, such as parental leave and milk expression breaks, enhances breastfeeding success while also sustaining the economy; and
Whereas,
everyone, including the government, healthcare providers, employers, the media,family, and friends, shares the responsibility of participating in sustainable support systems to create successful breastfeeding outcomes; and
Whereas,
Maryland citizens are encouraged to prioritize breastfeeding by protecting, promoting, and supporting all breastfeeding families.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, WES MOORE, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND, do hereby proclaim AUGUST 2025 as
BREASTFEEDING MONTH
in Maryland, and do commend this observation to all of our citizens.”
