Germantown Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening to Kill His Child with a Knife

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) was called to a domestic disturbance in Germantown’s 19900 block of Stoney Point Way. The guy was allegedly threatening to kill his child. After being disarmed with a Taser, officers arrested 47-year-old Dugan Gokhan, who was then charged with assault, child abuse, and reckless endangerment.

While trying to speak with Gokhan, officers also sought to defuse the situation by talking to family members, according to MCPD. Gokhan walked into the kitchen and held a big knife to his son as the police arrived at the house. Gokhan refused to drop the knife despite repeated orders from the officers.

Gokhan dropped the knife when a sergeant from the 5th District entered the house and used his Taser. Without causing harm to either the child or the officers, the officers successfully removed the child and took Gokhan into custody. Gokhan was accused of resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, second-degree child abuse, and first- and second-degree assault. The Montgomery County Central Processing Unit is where he is being detained at the moment.
