On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the City of Gaithersburg’s SummerFest will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. The Gaithersburg Police Department has issued a traffic advisory due to the event, which will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
According to Gaithersburg Police, traffic patterns will change for the event, and lane reductions will begin at 5 PM along S. Frederick Avenue (Route 355) next to Bohrer Park. Between Cedar and Central Avenues, cars will not be permitted to cross the street or turn left onto S. Frederick Avenue (Route 355). Make appropriate travel plans. Please use other routes to avoid the area entirely if you are not attending the festival.
Along S. Frederick Avenue (Route 355), crossing guards will be positioned at the intersections of Deer Park Road, Education Boulevard, and S. Summit Avenue. Please exercise caution as there will be a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood. At 5 p.m., traffic will be prohibited on S. Summit Avenue between Hutton Street and S. Frederick Avenue to protect pedestrians.
