Anurupa Ganguly, the founder of Prisms of Reality, and Colin Kaepernick, a former NFL quarterback and activist, were two notable speakers at the Superintendent’s A&S (Administrative & Supervisory) Meeting held recently by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).

The purpose of the event, which MCPS called “on fire,” was to challenge and motivate school administrators.Kaepernick, a well-known social justice advocate, spoke to the leaders about fighting for fairness and questioning established structures.

Anurupa Ganguly presented her outlook on education’s future alongside Kaepernick. She is leading a movement to transform STEM education in grades K–16 by making it more immersive and egalitarian for all students, as the founder of Prisms of Reality. Through embodied, real-world experiences, her company uses virtual reality to help kids understand difficult science and math ideas. Ganguly, an engineer with MIT training who is now an educator, is a fervent supporter of a novel approach to education that uses technology to make learning more interesting and productive.
