On Thursday, July 4, Brew Belly, located at 18065 Georgia Ave. in Olney, has announced that it will host its annual Cheesesteak Eating Contest. For a year, the eatery will give away free cheesesteaks to the contest winner.
In addition to winning a free cheesesteak every week for 52 weeks, the first individual to consume a 2-pound Wiz Wit footlong cheesesteak will be named the Brew Belly Grand Champion. Brew Belly will be holding a dog adoption and fundraising event with Hero Dogs in addition to the eating challenge.
Famous for its cheesesteaks, Brew Belly offers unusual pairings like the Seoul Style, which has pickles, chile mayo, soy-hoisin sauce, and mushrooms, and the Scout Style, which has American cheese, lettuce, pickles, fried onions, and Everything Bagel flavor. Poutine, wings, and loaded hot dogs such the Chili Dog and Elot Dog are all available on the menu. Additionally, Brew Belly serves a changing variety of 24 beers with a local focus.
