The DC-based Jewish deli Call Your Mother is returning to Bethesda with a new, permanent shop at 4828 St. Elmo Ave. Hardwood Artisans most recently occupied the location, which was once occupied by Johnny Rockets and Design Eithin Reach.
Robert Dyer was the first to report on the impending opening, which comes just months after the company relocated its well-liked Lil Deli mobile cart from the corner of Old Georgetown Road and Greentree Road to a new location in Riverdale (Prince George’s County) after about five years.
With its distinctive blend of New York and Montreal flavors, Call Your Mother’s wood-fired bagels have garnered a devoted following since its establishment in 2016. Creative bagel sandwiches like the popular Royal Palm with smoked salmon and the Sun City with its sweet and spicy bite are available on the menu. It is anticipated that the full menu of bagels, sandwiches, coffee, and pastries that have made it a local favorite would be available at the new Bethesda location.
Although there isn’t a specific launch date yet, 2026 would be a fair assumption. For the time being, Montgomery County’s ravenous fans can still satisfy their cravings at the Call Your Mother shop on Pike & Rose in North Bethesda.
