We declared in the summer of 2019 that Bear Brick Oven Pizza would replace the Greek Islands Grill on Cloverly’s New Hampshire Avenue. In April 2021, the restaurant reopened after COVID-related delays. The eatery has now closed after little over four years.
Bear Brick Oven Co. gained recognition for its distinctive pizzas and varied menu that included sandwiches, salads, and other main courses. A variety of regional craft beers are also available at the restaurant. In honor of Jarrell’s previous employment at Jerry’s, popular menu items include the traditional Brick Oven Cheese Pizza, the meat lover’s favorite, The Spencerville Pizza, a basket of fries, and a steak and cheese dish that looks like it belongs there.
It doesn’t seem like it will work out, according to Jarrell, who was negotiating with two current employees who were interested in buying the restaurant and carrying on with the new owners. In any case, we intend to maintain the name and start another BBOP in the future. Jarrell declared, “I got knocked down, but I’ll get back up, stronger than ever.”
