After three years of operation, Bao Bei has announced that its ghost kitchen at 11910 Parklawn Drive would close on August 1. The restaurant is celebrating by giving you 30% off your total order on the Toast app when you use the code FINALDAYS. A grand opening date will be announced shortly for the new 1,903-square-foot facility at 12055 Rockville Pike in Montrose Crossing, which is close to the old Honey Pig site.
Serving Taiwanese street food via delivery platforms, Bao Bei began as a ghost restaurant in 2022 and offers everything from fluffy baos to filling bowls and small platters. Leading the concept is chef Kevin Hsieh, a 2013 Gaithersburg High School alumnus whose goal is to spread traditional, authentic Taiwanese flavors.
According to Chef Kevin Hsieh, “Bao Bei,” a Taiwanese expression of affection, refers to someone or something you hold in the highest regard. In honor of my family, I will use Bao Bei’s cuisine to introduce the people to my culture.
