The All-In Summer Tour is making its much awaited return to Dogwood Park in Rockville, bringing with it the sound of basketballs and competition. A series of fierce one-on-one matches will take place at the park’s courts, which are situated at 800 Monroe Street, on Sunday, August 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Jonathan Mensah, a native of MoCo, founded the event, which has become a mainstay of the DMV basketball scene. Mensah started the All-In Summer at Our Tour to provide a stage for some of the best basketball players in the region. The tour, which started at Dogwood Park before moving to other venues, was motivated by his passion for the game and his wish to give back to the community. Mensah’s ultimate objective is to inspire young people and instill optimism in the neighborhood.

With a combination of well-known veterans and up-and-coming talent, the return to Dogwood Park promises to be a top-tier showcase. Local spectators will get a unique chance to witness elite talent up close as the event will showcase the talents of athletes who have competed on both collegiate and professional arenas.

Here are a few of the players who are expected to compete:

Cortez Whitney: Bringing his all-county high school expertise to the floor, Cortez Whitney is an outstanding guard for Montgomery College. Whitney, who is well-known for his ability to score, scored 20 points a game in high school. He will be trying to demonstrate his scoring skill in the 1-on-1 style.

David Dickerson IV: David Dickerson IV, a well-known figure in the DMV basketball world, averaged an amazing 25.5 points per game in 2015, making him the state’s top scorer. Dickerson took his skills abroad after playing collegiately at Cecil College, playing professionally in the CIBA-Pac league in Mexico and London.

Byron Hawkins: A 30-year-old veteran with a reputation in the one-on-one circuit, Byron Hawkins hails from Prince George’s County. After graduating from Good Counsel High School, he played basketball professionally in Brazil after attending Murray State and Towson in Division I. Hawkins has battled some of the top players in the one-on-one arena, such as Cashtro, Moon, and Uncle Skoob.

Randy Cooper: 21-year-old Randy Cooper is traveling from Hockessin, Delaware. Cooper, a rising contender hoping to establish himself against some of the finest in the area, has a strong 7-2 1-on-1 record.
