Additional details about a deadly head-on collision that happened in the vicinity of Sandy Spring Road and McKnew Road in Burtonsville have been made public by the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
The collision claimed the life of the victim, Jazz Andrew Taylor, 30, of Columbia, Maryland, according to the MCPD. Officers from the 3rd District and Montgomery County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene of a two-vehicle collision at around 3:21 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
According to the inquiry, a red 2007 Honda CRV was heading west in the westbound lanes of Sandy Spring Road when it collided with a gray 2024 Honda CRV that was traveling east for reasons that are still unknown. The gray Honda’s driver was sent to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. Inside the red Honda, officers found Taylor, an adult male driver. He was declared dead at the spot despite attempts to save his life.
Detectives at CRU are requesting that anybody who may have seen the collision call (240) 773-6620 as part of an active and ongoing investigation.
