Steve Solomon Launches Campaign for At-Large Montgomery County Council Seat

Published On:

Former co-host of The Steve Czaban Show and The MoCoShow podcast, Steve Solomon, has declared his intention to run for an at-large seat on the Montgomery County Council, pointing to the need for sensible leadership on matters like housing, education, economic development, small business support, and senior services.

Solomon, who has lived in the county all of his life, is taking part in the public financing program and is looking for volunteer assistance and small-scale donations to reach the matching fund criteria. Infrastructure, school snow days, and deer management were among his campaign topics during his prior runs for the Board of Education in 2020 and the County Council in 2018 and 2022.

My name is Steve Solomon, and I am a candidate for the position of Montgomery County Council At Large. I’ve lived in Montgomery County my entire life. In the 1940s, my parents escaped Europe as immigrants. They never left Montgomery County after arriving there in the 1960s. Both worked for the federal government for the majority of their careers. My mother is battling for compensation for injured military service members at the VA, while my father works in food safety at the FDA. Wheaton, Kemp Mill, Rockville, Silver Spring, Bethesda, and Olney are some of the places I’ve lived and worked.

I’m not a public figure. I’m simply a regular middle-class guy who wants to give back to the town he’s grown up in.

I have so far worked with podcasting and radio. I was able to pursue my passion of working in radio after earning a degree in economics from the University of Maryland. I produced and hosted discussion radio shows in Washington, DC, and around the country for 21 years.

Prior to radio, I worked as a carpenter, ticket office employee, librarian, and lawnmower.

I’ve become more active in Montgomery County problems during the past few years by volunteering for political campaigns, nonprofits, civic organizations, boards, and committees.
