76th Annual Montgomery County Fair Kicks Off Today

The 76th annual Montgomery County Agricultural Fair begins today, Friday, August 8, and goes through Saturday, August 16.


On opening day, the fair will be open from 3 p.m. to midnight (gates close at 11 p.m.); on August 9, 15, and 16, it will be open from 10 a.m. to midnight (gates close at 11 p.m. each night). The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. from August 10 to August 14 (gates close at 10 p.m.). August 11 and 12 are designated as Family Days, with cheap ride wristbands available. Lone Oak Brewery, Doc Waters Cidery, New Orleans Style Snow Balls, Dippin’ Dots, Corn Guys, Churro Inc., Dickerson Market, and Don Julio’s Kitchen are among the food and beverage options this year. August 13 and 14 will include Monster Truck performances, August 15 will have the Red Eye Rodeo, and August 16 will feature the Stoney Roberts Demolition Derby. Today, Taste MoCo will also present its yearly Fair Food Awards.

With roots in 4-H history and developed by generations of community volunteers, the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair was established in 1949 and has since expanded to become one of Maryland’s major county fairs. Each year, more than 800 volunteers contribute to the success of the nine-day event, carrying on a tradition of family-friendly entertainment and agricultural education.
