On Saturday, August 2, the King Arthur Baking Company at the Shops at Wildwood, 10207 Old Georgetown Road, will have its grand opening. King Arthur Baking’s first Maryland facility will be this area, which was home to Indigo Octopus until June 28th. Moving to Bethesda Row is Indigo Octopus’s next move.
King Arthur Baking Company is excited to reach more DMV customers following a successful pop-up that opened in Fairfax Corner last fall. The Bethesda store will stay open during the holidays and provide a large selection of baking necessities, like as ingredients, mixes, equipment, accessories, and kitchen appliances. Early August is when the firm hopes to open the store.
Henry Wood established the King Arthur Baking Company in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1790, and it has a long history. Originally called Henry Wood & Company, the company specialized in importing and selling flour that had been milled in England. It changed over the ages, first launching the King Arthur Flour brand in 1896 and then changing its name to the King Arthur Baking Company in 2020 to indicate a wider commitment to baking in general rather than just flour.
