Montgomery County Launches Spanish-Language Business Accelerator

On August 4, the Montgomery County Business Center and M&T Bank will launch their second free Spanish-language Business Accelerator Program, which will provide up to 30 qualified County-based entrepreneurs with seven weeks of training in important business development domains like finance, marketing, and artificial intelligence tools.


According to the press release: To help business owners in the County, the Montgomery County Business Center and M&T Bank will provide the second Business Accelerator Program in Spanish. Up to 30 entrepreneurs who fulfill the eligibility conditions will be accepted into the seven-week free program, which starts on August 4.

Montgomery County’s continuous efforts to assist diverse small companies and advance fair access to financial resources and business development tools include this free program.

According to County Executive Marc Elrich, “This Multicultural Business Accelerator reflects our commitment to ensuring that Latino-owned businesses have access to the tools, knowledge, and capital they need to grow and succeed.” I would want to express my gratitude to M&T Bank and the Business Center team for making this program possible. Participants in the program will investigate important facets of business development, such as:

  • Navigating County business resources
  • Business plan creation
  • Understanding financial statements and business credit
  • Marketing strategies
  • Using Artificial Intelligence for business growth

Participants will pitch their business strategies in a pitch competition at the end of the program for a chance to win cash awards for first, second, and third place.

Qualifications:

  • Business must be in Montgomery County
  • Established within the last five years
  • In good standing with the State of Maryland
  • Participant must be able to speak, read, and comprehend Spanish
