When we announced last October that AYSE Meze Lounge would be reopening about five years after closing its cherished Frederick location in 2020, Maryland’s Mediterranean foodies had cause for celebration. In Rockville’s King Farm area, the well-known eatery is making a much-anticipated return with plans to open this summer.
As it gets ready to offer its upgraded dining experience in the upcoming months, the restaurant is hiring and has put up an AYSE awning and coming soon signage. By combining traditional recipes with modern methods, AYSE seeks to restore the classic flavors that made it a Frederick mainstay under the ongoing direction of owner Nezih Pistar.
Located at 700 King Farm Blvd #170 in Rockville, the new site will replace Nick’s Chophouse and provide customers a more upscale and private experience. From colorful mezes and masterfully grilled meats and shellfish to signature dishes like manti and fresh, wood-fired branzino, diners can anticipate a menu that celebrates the rich traditions of the Mediterranean. You may view an example menu here.
AYSE is a member of the KIOS Restaurant Group, which also owns Isabella’s Taverna and Tapas Bar and Pistarro’s Ristorante in Frederick. Pistar’s relocation to Rockville represents a major growth for the restaurant and a welcome contribution to the varied culinary landscape of Montgomery County.
