The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has released additional information regarding a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Great Seneca Highway involving two vehicles.
According to MCPD:
βAt approximately 10:35 p.m., on Monday, July 21, 2025, 5th District officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Mateny Road for a reported rollover collision with ejection.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult female driver of a white 2018 Subaru. Despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
An adult male, driving a black 2021 Mazda, was also located at the scene with serious injuries and transported to an area hospital.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Mazda was traveling northbound on Great Seneca Highway, approaching Mateny Road, when it struck the Subaru, which was turning left onto eastbound Mateny Road. The impact caused the Subaru to roll and eject the driver.
The Montgomery County Department of Police β Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision.
A news release will be issued once additional information becomes available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.β
