Dolan Uyghur Restaurant

, a renowned establishment with locations in DC and Virginia, is set to expand Maryland this summer. This restaurant is celebrated for its authentic and healthy Uyghur cuisine, which is a unique culinary tradition from Central Asia. It will be located at 20-A Maryland Ave in Rockville (The Square at Rockville), which has been home to Kung Fu Kitchen for the last year after a rebrand from Peter Chang.

Dolan Uyghur Restaurant tentatively plans to open on July 20th, but notes that there could be delays in the process. Offerings will include a wide array of dishes such as hand-pulled noodles, chicken stew, handmade dumplings, various kebabs (lamb, rib, whole lamb tandoor), dry-fried chicken, and stir-fried lamb, alongside extensive vegan and halal options.

The owner, Hamid Kerim, who immigrated from East Turkistan (also known as Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region), established the restaurant not only to share the vibrant flavors of his homeland but also to help preserve and raise awareness about Uyghur culture and the ongoing challenges faced by his people.
