Montgomery County Offers Free Back-to-School Vaccinations for K–12 Students

Published On:

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is offering free back-to-school vaccinations for children in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade who live in the County and are missing required immunizations. Vaccines are available by appointment at multiple clinic locations through the end of September to help students meet state vaccination requirements for the 2025–2026 school year.

Per the news release: “The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) offers free back-to-school vaccinations for school-aged children from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade at several locations across the County from now through the end of September.

These vaccinations are available at no cost to children who live in Montgomery County and are missing any required immunizations to attend school.

“Making sure kids are up to date on their vaccines is one of the simplest ways we can keep them healthy and ready to learn,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “I’m glad our Health and Human Services team is making it easier for families by offering free back-to-school shots at convenient locations across the County. No family should have to worry about cost when it comes to protecting their children from preventable diseases. If your child is missing any vaccines, I encourage you to make an appointment now so they can start the school year on track.”

The “back-to-school” vaccine offerings include:

  • Tdap
  • Meningococcal (MCV4)
  • Meningococcal B
