Suspects Fail to Break Into Gaithersburg Sneaker Shop, Police Investigating

The Gaithersburg Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary at Rich Soles, a sneaker boutique on North Frederick Avenue, early Monday morning, after unknown suspects tried but failed to break in through the front door.

The business has since announced a temporary closure and is asking the public for information. According to Gaithersburg Police, “On July 14, 2025 at 3:37 a.m., police responded for the report of an attempted commercial burglary at Rich Soles located in the 200 block of N. Frederick Avenue. Unknown suspects attempted to enter the business through the front door but were unsuccessful.”

Rich Soles posted the following on its Instagram page, along with surveillance footage:

At 3:30 am this morning we had a burglary attempt, but luckily they failed.

We really got blessed by the miracle of God. We’re sad this happened this morning & we’re going to close our doors until further notice and I’ll personally keep yall updated.
