The Washington DC area is on the radar for Cosm Inc., the innovative immersive entertainment company, as it seeks a site for its next “Shared Reality” venue. The
Washington Business Journal
is reporting that Cosm is actively looking for a significant footprint, targeting 40,000 to 80,000 square feet, with a preference for locations near existing major sports venues. While Southeast DC is being eyed, the company remains open to other possibilities within the metropolitan area.
Cosm is known for its cutting-edge immersive entertainment spaces that aim to redefine how audiences experience live events. Their “Shared Reality” venues feature massive, curved LED screens, often in the form of domes (up to 87 ft diameter with 12K+ resolution), paired with advanced spatial audio technology. This combination is designed to transport attendees directly into the heart of live sports, concerts, and cultural events, creating a sensation of being physically present.
The company’s programming includes a diverse range of content, from live sports streams through official partnerships with major leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, WWE, and UFC, to concerts, immersive exhibits, and experiential cinema. Their venues often include multi-tiered seating, elevated food and beverage options, and in some cases, even rooftop spaces for additional experiences.
Cosm currently operates two successful venues in the United States: one in Los Angeles, California, located at Hollywood Park adjacent to SoFi Stadium, and another in Dallas, Texas, at Grandscape. Expanding its footprint, Cosm has also announced and begun development on new venues in Atlanta, Georgia (expected to open in 2026 at Centennial Yards), Detroit, Michigan (expected to open in 2026 near Campus Martius Park), and Cleveland, Ohio (expected to open in mid-2027 as part of Bedrock’s “Rock Block” development).
The move into the Washington DC would be its sixth market signifies and shows Cosm’s continued ambitious expansion plans, with the company having stated its long-term vision to establish a significant presence both domestically and internationally. This pursuit for a D.C. site aligns with their strategy to bring their unique “Shared Reality” experience to more sports and entertainment hubs across the nation.
