Early Morning Collision on I-270 Leaves Two Trapped and Injured

Published On:

A significant crash happened on northbound I-270 between exits 10 and 11 just before Route 124 early on Thursday morning. “Two people were trapped in the incident, which involved two vehicles,” said Pete Piringer, Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS).

Piringer said that both of the individuals who were in the crash were identified as Priority 2 trauma patients, meaning that their injuries were severe but not immediately life-threatening. The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Emergency Medical and Integrated Healthcare Services (MCFRS EMIHS) took them to a nearby hospital for additional medical care.

Some lanes on I-270 have been temporarily blocked due to the collision, which has caused traffic delays in the region. The cause of the crash is still being looked into.
