A six-month-old baby was killed and two people were hurt in a single-vehicle collision in Frederick County on Saturday morning when a Dodge Durango collided with a house on Woodsboro Pike and a telephone pole. Maryland State Police are looking into the incident.

Authorities claim that a six-month-old baby was taken to Johns Hopkins Children Center by Maryland State Police Helicopter and subsequently declared dead. Two other passengers in a Dodge Durango, a 3-year-old kid and a 26-year-old woman, were taken to The Johns Hopkins Hospital via ambulance to receive medical attention for their injuries. According to reports, the driver was unharmed.

Troops from the Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police arrived at the 12000 residential block of Woodsboro Pike (Maryland 194) at around 10:53 a.m. in response to a report of a single-vehicle collision. A preliminary examination indicates that the Dodge was heading north when it struck a telephone pole and then a house for unclear reasons. At the time of the collision, the house was vacant. According to the police, impairment had no role in this collision.

At Maryland 194, all lanes are blocked. The road closure is being assisted by Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration personnel. The investigation is still in progress and is being led by the Maryland State Police Crash Team.
