We informed you at the beginning of this year that Burger King will be taking McDonald’s position in the food court of the Westfield Wheaton mall (11160 Veirs Mill Road) once it permanently closed. The changeover should be open in the next months, and BK recently acquired a $239K permit to start construction.
Popeye’s and Pollo Campero will soon be joined by Burger King in the food court. Bourbon Street Cafe, Charleys Cheesesteaks, Grill Kabob, Suki Hana, Taco Bell, and Thai Kitchen are some of the current food court vendors. In order to provide competition for the burger company, Five Guys will also be opening a shop at Wheaton Mall.
Westfield recently revealed that the Department of Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) in Montgomery County will operate Oak Barrel & Vine, its improved retail concept, on the upper level in the Costco wing.Furthermore, the Wheaton Mall food court’s Wiseguy Pizza, the chain’s sole Maryland branch, which opened in September 2023, shuttered early this year.
