The Mediterranean eatery Agora, which initially opened its doors at 1527 17th St NW DC in 2010, specializes in tapas-style Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese food. According to Business Journals, the restaurant will soon establish its first location in Maryland in Bethesda after opening one in Tysons Corner, Virginia in 2019.
According to the source, it will occupy the 6,500 square foot area that was previously occupied by the Daily Grill at the base of the Hyatt Regency (One Metro Place, Bethesda). A new tenant was supposed to move into the property by 2022, but that never happened. In the summer of 2026, Agora aimed to open.
Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese culinary traditions are the foundation of Agora’s varied and enticing cuisine, which is served in a tapas-style format ideal for sharing and trying out different flavors. A selection of cold mezzes, including well-liked choices like the colorful Htipiti, traditional Baba Ghanouj, creamy Hummus, and the tart Labneh, can be served as part of a handy spread sampler to start guests’ gastronomic adventures.
Savory delicacies like crispy Falafel, the fragrant Imam Bayildi, and Ottoman Rice, with its distinctive combination of fruits and nuts, are among the hot mezzes options. The menu also offers grilled meats and poultry for those with larger appetites, including Kofte, tender grilled chicken, juicy lamb chops, and traditional kebaps like Sis Kebap and Adana Kebap.
Agora is also well-known for its vibrant weekend bottomless brunch, which is served on Saturdays and Sundays and provides a great chance to enjoy a wide selection of their mezze and major dishes together with unlimited drinks, in addition to their normal lunch and dinner services.
